Associate Membership (Post nominal – AIPI)
An applicant should be studying or working as a trainee Professional Investigator and once admitted as an Associate the individual may progress to Ordinary Membership (MIPI) by
Success in a recognised course and examination in investigation or an associated subject acceptable by the Board and completed within 2 years of joining the Institute.
Satisfying the Board that they have been employed as a Professional Investigator for at least 2 years and has sufficient professional knowledge and capability.
Ordinary Membership (Post-nominal – MIPI)
Any individual who satisfies the Board of Governors that they have been employed as a Professional Investigator for at least 2 years and that has sufficient professional knowledge and capability,
Has taken and passed a professional examination relative to investigation acceptable to the Board in accordance with the Bye–laws of the Institute,
Fellow of the Institute – (Post Nominals – FIPI)
The Board shall have power to admit to Membership of the Institute any person who in the opinion of the Board, has demonstrated that they have sufficient professional knowledge and capability.
Companion of the Institute – (Post Nominals – CIPI)
A Companion of the Institute can are awarded at the discretion of the Board and is normally only awarded in exceptional circumstances.
The IPI welcomes organisations engaged in or associated with Professional Investigation to Corporate Membership with an annual membership fee payable to the Institute. Admittance and terms are at the discretion of the Board.
The cost of participation of all the categories of membership is as follows:
